FCMC is a philosophical approach to prenatal care and birth, providing care to the pregnant woman in the context of her family. These practices which consider, include, and foster the development of families come naturally to Family Physicians. Historically, FCMC practitioners have also promoted natural childbirth.

 

Purpose

The purpose of this site is twofold.

First, to provide reference information for prenatal care*.

Second, to serve as an educational tool for family medicine residents training to provide family centered maternity care.
